Growing up, all I ever wanted to be was a mom. That was it. Later, I thought I might enjoy teaching or nursing, but I would only pursue an education when the time was right, when all my babies were in school and, really, only if I was just DYING of boredom at home eating bonbons. I never thought I would actually NEED to work to help my family financially (especially while Bella was still at home) and I never thought I would work at an orthodontic office. I mean, I've never even had braces! But, alas, here I am - and loving it! (Ok, so I would rather be at home eating bonbons, but this is the best of both worlds) BTW, my boss doesn't read my blog so everything I say is true.Pictured above is me and my brainy and beautiful co-receptionist, Meghan, (whom I affectionately call MJ, and whom Bella calls "The White One") MJ was hired permenantly, while I applied and was hired for the temp "through the summer" position. Now, I must convince Doctor that he needs me to stay on indefinently. Wish Brainiac would quit showing off...
We always have the same conversation at some point during the day. "Cute hair!! How did you do that? LOVE your shirt, skirt, pants, shoes, jewelry.." You name it, we love it. We now have matching hair clips and watches and MJ and I own the same black dress - I can't wait to wear it on the same day! Then, it is on to our daily ailments. We suffer from a variety of illnesses. Heather and I need serious digestive help - and a lot more, while MJ is in need of a dentist, eye, nose and throat doctor. Oh, don't even get us started on our headaches, the room temperature or funny smells.

Meet "The Janitator" - this gal steers the ship and keeps us all afloat. Speaks pretty good Spanish as well. This comes in handy every time I get a call that begins with "Bueno"... I even attributed the Russian language to her also, but it is really not her strong point.

Kim and CeeJay, assistants to the Doc, always full of energy and dancing. They make me feel old, but I still love them.
Me, Heather and MJ. (It took two of us to replace Heather when she was promoted to the "billing closet") Heather is my hero - smart, beautiful and CRAZY. I mean it. Crazy. We like to add her as a patient all the time. She needs to see a doctor. The same is said of myself, that is one reason we get along so well.

Something is so funny we have to hide, or we are planning something so funny we have to hide.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of our Treatment Coordinator, Teresa. FABULOUS woman. She is tall, thin, beautiful AND... of course, has a gorgous smile.
Normal Heather.
Special Heather.
Normal Heather.
Special Heather.Seriously, I love my job. I don't have pictured everyone who works with with me, but I adore each of them. Doctor is the best boss I could ask for and he appreciates and understands the value of family. He takes extrodinary care of his employees and patients. I consider myself very lucky to be part of his team for any length of time.

Beauty is obviously a requirement to work in this office. What a great looking bunch! (I like Special Heather the best)
Another entertaining and colorful blog entry. Are you ever just grumpy, Selina? If it every happens, will you capture it please? I'm starting to feel that something is wrong with me.
