Katie Bug is my very funny, quiet, crazy, humble kid. I love all of her qualities - even the ones that drive me crazy! So, knowing my daughter, it didn't surprise me that she waited until a few days before her third grade music program, to tell me that she would be singing a solo part.
I have heard Katie sing before, but it has always been to loud music or when she was being silly. Cute little voice, but I never thought much beyond that. When it was her time to sing, I DID NOT recognize the voice coming from the microphone!! At first I thought the music teacher had her lip sync or sing along with a pre-recorded song. I was ticked! Boy, I was going to give that teacher a piece of my mind... But wait, that IS Katie singing! What the heck. What a beautiful voice, why was I just now discovering this about my daughter??
Katie is also extremely shy. I was amazed that she would get up in front of a full gymnasium and sing her little heart away. This kid never ceases to surprise me.

We totally took advantage of April's seating privileges and moved chair and sat ourselves right by her. (I didn't make eye contact with any of the other parents, hate confrontation, but love first row seats)
